SUMMARY:Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention - Combo MMH & SRH (MIPCombo-02)
DESCRIPTION:This 3-day instructor-led blended workshop\, available virtually or in-person \nNote: You must complete The Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention Orientation course\, a 30-min Free OnDemand Course\, ideally 7- 30 days before taking the scheduled Instructor-Led Training.  \n  \nThis program is designed to provide you with the skills needed to customize and deliver the Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention – Safe Resident Handling (SRH) and Manual Materials Handling (MMH) workshop materials to meet the unique requirements of your organization or facility. This workshop aims to equip you with the crucial knowledge to effectively communicate both the theoretical concepts and practical demonstrations. \nDay 1: \nThe instructor will cover the theory and coaching on lifting techniques relevant to any lifting or handling tasks\, both People and Objects. In the afternoon\, you will practice safe lifting and then be assigned portions of the course to assist you in preparing to present the material back to the group on day 2. \nDay 2: \nYou will demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of what causes musculoskeletal injuries by presenting the portions of the theory. This will help you to gain confidence and comfort in demonstrating and coaching participants on the S.A.F.E. handling techniques that are crucial for minimizing their risk of injury.  \nDay 3: \nYou will keep coaching the group to strengthen their lifting and handling techniques. To earn a certificate of completion\, you need to successfully finish an open-book competency exam\, achieving a score of 80 percent or higher. \nTo enhance your learning experience\, we provide a safe environment where you can showcase your understanding of the theories behind musculoskeletal injuries and prevention strategies. You’ll be able to apply what you’ve learned in your daily activities and professional life.  \n  \nComponents required to participate in the course: stable internet; 2 devices (laptop\, tablet\, smart TV\, smartphone); 2 volunteers (if you are attending on your own) 1 to act as a patient and 1 to assist with lifting activities and/or videoing); electric bed\, slider sheets\, transfer belt\, wheelchair and lift (if used in your community); shelves\, boxes\, for lifting and a cart or dolly for pushing/pulling.

SUMMARY:Respirator Fit Tester Training (RFT-02)
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: You must complete the Respirator Fit Tester Orientation\, a 30-minute Free OnDemand Course\, ideally 7-30 days before taking the Instructor-Led Respirator Fit Tester Training. \nAfter completing the Respirator Fit Tester Orientation part 1\, you are ready to put your learnings to the test. You will refresh your memory on theory before tackling the ultimate challenge: donning and doffing the N95 respirator\, performing a user seal check\, comfort assessment\, and fit testing. The instructor will provide valuable feedback and demos to ensure you are using the proper technique. \nPrepare for an In-Depth Look at Respiratory Protection: \n\nThe importance of respiratory protection and how to test for proper fit\nHow airborne diseases spread and techniques for self-protection\nLaws and standards that pertain to respiratory protection programs\nDifferent types of respirators\, how to choose them\, and how to maintain them\nEssential components of a respiratory protection program\nHands-on training in the art of qualitative fit testing (QLFT)\n\nIMPORTANT! Respirator Fit Tester Training consists of three parts: \n\nPart I: Pre-requisite a 30-minute eLearning theory component\, Respirator Fit Tester Orientation;\nPart II: a 3-hour virtual Instructor-Led theory review and practical demonstration and receive an 80% or better on the quiz\nPart III: a 1-2-hour practical component (virtual or in-person\, no additional cost for this part) where you will demonstrate a qualitative fit test during a 1:1 session with a CCSA Health and Safety Consultant.\n\nThis course is particularly relevant to industries such as healthcare\, where respiratory protection is essential. \nThe Respirator Fit Tester Training doesn’t certify participants to train others to be fit testers\, nor does it qualify participants to conduct fit testing as a paid service. Successful program completion enables learners to fit test their colleagues within their organization.

By the end of the course\, you will view incidents through a new lens\, and you’ll have important knowledge and skills to help make your workplace safer\, no matter what your role in the investigation process. \nIn part 2 of this workshop\, you will see that determining root cause is a necessary step in the process of reducing (or eliminating) workplace incidents. Incident investigations cannot be successful without discovering the fundamental source of the incident: the Root Cause. This highly interactive in-service provides participants with hands-on guidance to practice and hone their skills in recognizing root cause. \nParticipants will be given the opportunity to use their actual\, site-specific incident investigations to determine the root cause of an incident or\, if preferred\, your CCSA Consultant can provide incident scenarios for you to use in this in-service. The Root Cause Analysis In-service is an extension of the Incident Investigation Workshop and is intended for those members of your staff responsible for performing incident investigations.
