Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention: Manual Materials Handling (MMH-02)
This 2-hour instructor-led blended course, available virtually or in-person
Note: You must complete the Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention Orientation course, a 60-min Free OnDemand Course, ideally 7- 30 days before taking the scheduled Instructor-Led Training.
This course emphasizes the importance of safely lifting and handling objects. According to WCB data, sprains and strains consistently rank as the most common injuries in the healthcare sector each year. Utilizing proper body mechanics for lifting and moving—both in the workplace and at home—significantly contributes to reducing injuries.
- Review the theory behind musculoskeletal injuries learned in the MIP Orientation
- Engage in hands-on practice of the most common lifting techniques under the guidance of an instructor.
By the end of the course, you will have a solid understanding of both the reasons for and methods of safe lifting. Apply what you learn to enhance your daily life.
